This release introduces several new features and several changes regarding infrastructure and behind-the-scenes issues.
What’s New

Google Drive Storage Integration
What it does: Maatdesk is now able to integrate with Google Drive to store documents. The documents can be stored in drives shared for the whole firm or by practice areas. When using the Google Drive storage system, the firm is allowed to archive the documents for closed matters.

What’s New Notice
What it does: After a new version of Maatdesk is deployed, upon login, the users will see a notice including the new features shipped with the latest version.
How to use it: After the user logs in, the notice will automatically pop up.
Improvements

Documents and Signature Management System
What was changed: Multiple improvements have been added to the document management system. Maatdesk can now create documents associated with a contact even before they become a client or have a matter associated with them. The documents’ categories and folder management have been improved. Form fields have been added to the documents. The audit log for a document can now be exported in PDF. The user can now choose to autosave the documents.

Added the secure inbox to the main menu
What was changed: The inbox for secure messaging can now be accessed directly from the main menu, and it contains message threads for all matters in one place. Other minor improvements have been added as well, like the ability to delete the attachments of a message and the ability to see messages of a matter regardless of its status (even for closed matters).
How to use it: Access it through the new item called Secure Inbox in the main menu at the left edge of the screen.

Added the Matter’s event entries tab
What was changed: The scheduled events for a matter can now be seen in a separate tab inside the matter, in addition to seeing it in the general schedule, where it’s shown with other events unrelated to the matter.
How to use it: Access it through the new tab titled Events once inside the matter page.

Improvements to the settlement ledger
What was changed: Multiple improvements have been made to the settlement ledger previously added to the matters of type contingency fee, including improved support for fractional values. The access control has been specifically tailored for the feature. It is allowed to receive and distribute multiple payments, rather than a single payment for the case. The experience is more consistent across the ledger screens, and the flow’s stability has improved as well.
How to use it: The changes can be appreciated in the Settlement Ledger tab of the “Contingency Fee” type matters.

Other improvements
- Login – The user’s login/logout and tenant selection flow has been improved.
- Email Templates – The templates used to send emails to the clients have been modernized and now include the logo.
- Feed pagination – The activity feed is now paged by entries instead of by dates, providing an experience more consistent with the rest of the application.
- Audit log – The firm management actions have been added to the audit log and can be reviewed in the Activity Log.
- User’s Portal – Portal invitations can no longer be sent to disabled portal users.
- Internal Memory Handling – Multiple changes were applied to improve the efficiency of memory handling.
- Notifications – The notifications sent to the user have been improved, including the notifications digest.
- Payment Methods – The user can now manage the payment methods in the system, changing from the predefined set of payment methods.
Performance and Security Updates
Maatdesk has been migrated to version 10 of .NET Core, which comes with long-term support, many improvements in security and performance. The identity provider implementation has been upgraded to Duende v7.4
Bug Fixes
- A critical issue with memory handling in edge cases of document management was fixed.
- Multiple other minor bugs were fixed in the front and back ends.
