Understanding Accounts module

Through this guide, you will learn the basics of the Accounts and Transactions windows, an explanation of their main elements, and what actions you can perform from each one.

Composition of the Accounts window

To access the Accounts window, simply click the Accounts () link on the left side panel.

From this window, you will be able to create new bank accounts and manage all existing ones.

The structure of the Accounts window is as follows:

  1. Add Account button: This button allows the creation of a bank account when launching a panel to perform this action.
  2. Filter panel button: This button opens the filter panel to selectively search among bank accounts.
  1. Column filter: This filter shows all the available columns of the bank accounts table. Selecting or deselecting a column will show or hide it, the table will always resize automatically.
  1. Help button: Available throughout Maatdesk, Help buttons provide direct links to the documentation in Maatdesk Support for the window, module, or panel it is in.
  2. Table with all accounts: This is the main element of the Accounts window.

    It shows the existing bank accounts based on the applied filters, their main information and also allows actions to be taken directly on them.

Structure of the Bank Accounts table

The main elements of an account row in the table are as follows:

  1. Edit button and action selector (): The first item allows you to edit the account, the second will expand a list of options that will be the following:
    • Edit (): This button allows you to edit the bank account.
    • Delete (): Launches a modal to delete the bank account.

      Before performing any of these actions, it is recommended that you read the Getting started with Accounts tutorial.

  2. Name: The name of the bank account provides direct access to the Transactions window for the selected account.

    Next to the name, where applicable, badges will be displayed that allows you to identify:

    • Trust type accounts.
    • The default account in each type (Trust and Operating).
  3. Bank account information: Displays the details of the bank account, as well as its current balance.

Composition of the Transactions window

To access the Transactions window, simply click on the name of the desired bank account.

This window contains all transactions, whether payments, refunds, deposits, or others, made from or to the bank account.

Transactions are also found in the tab of the same name in any Matter or Contact dashboard.

The composition of the Transactions window is as follows:

  1. Details: This block contains the main information of the selected bank account.
  2. Action buttons: Each button launches a panel that allows you to create a different type of transaction:
  3. Column filter: This filter shows all the available columns of the transaction table.

    Selecting or deselecting a column will show or hide it, the table will always resize automatically.

  1. Help button: Available throughout Maatdesk, Help buttons provide direct links to the documentation in Maatdesk Support for the window, module, or panel it is in.
  2. Calendar filters: Allow you to search for transactions in a specific period.
  3. Table with all transactions: This is the main element of the Transactions window.

    It contains all the transactions carried out by and for a client or user (through Maatdesk or the Client Portal), as well as their main information.

  4. Summary: Shows the total funds in the account and the total incoming and outgoing funds, based on the transactions shown in the table.
