Managing Merchants
A merchant connects Maatdesk to your payment gateway, so clients can pay online and the money goes to your bank account.
Use Settings to configure Maatdesk for your firm: users and permissions, practice areas, documents and forms, participants, billing and payments, and integrations. The Settings page groups these tools into the areas below. Your own profile and notification preferences are under your name in the left menu.
Manage firm information, users, roles and other administrative settings.
Configure practice areas and legal settings used across the firm.
Manage document storage, categories, templates, questionnaires and forms.
Manage participant roles, statuses and relation types.
Manage billing settings and payment methods.
Configure AI providers, integrations and communication tools.
Your personal information and notification preferences.

Deadline types are the kinds of deadlines you can add to a matter, such as a discovery deadline or a statute of limitations. They are grouped by practice area. Maatdesk includes system types, and you can add your own.
Document categories organize the documents of your matters, for example Petition, Evidence or Fee Agreement. You can add, rename, merge and delete categories.
Firm-level AI integrations let an administrator set up an AI provider once for the whole firm and choose which groups and users can use it in AI Tools, instead of each user adding their own API key.
Your profile has your personal information, your time zone and your password. Keep it up to date so notifications and documents show the right data.
